A self-paced, assessed short course in medical cannabis for South African doctors and pharmacists. Fifteen core modules, then the six-module pathway for your profession. Certificate on completion.
Who it is for
Prescribers
who are asked about cannabis by patients and want a defensible way to decide, prescribe, monitor, and document.
Pharmacists
who receive Section 21 scripts and unregistered products and need dispensing, labelling, counselling, and quality practice that holds up to inspection.
Registered health professionals in either group, whether or not they intend to prescribe or dispense: the core covers the science, evidence, safety, law, and ethics that every conversation about cannabis now requires.
How the course is built
The catalogue holds 27 modules. You complete 21.

Core (15 modules).
Everyone: botany and chemovars, the endocannabinoid system, pharmacology, product quality, dosage forms, dosing, the evidence base, safety and interactions, special populations, South African law and the global picture, professional ethics, patient communication, and pharmacovigilance.

Your pathway (6 modules).
Choose one after the core. The Doctor pathway covers patient selection, treatment planning, psychiatric risk, impairment and forensic duties, the Section 21 prescriber lifecycle, and the prescribing act. The Pharmacist pathway covers controlled-substance handling, labelling for unregistered products, compounding and stability, dispensing-time screening, GMP and recall at pharmacy scale, and the dispensing act.

Completion of all 21 modules earns a certificate issued by Demo Provider (Pty) Ltd, with a public verification page for anyone who needs to check it.

Accreditation status
Application for approval as a CPD activity is in progress. Until an approval is granted and named on this page, completion earns a certificate of completion and no CPD points. We will not sell this course on a CPD claim we cannot yet make.
Questions
Do I need to be a doctor or a pharmacist?
The course is written for both. Other registered health professionals may enrol; the pathway choice at module 16 is yours.
How long does it take?
About 60 hours of study across 21 modules. Most learners spread it over several weeks.
Can I switch pathways?
You choose one pathway for the certificate. The other pathway's modules stay readable in the catalogue after you complete yours, but they do not count toward completion.
Is this a prescribing licence or a dispensing authorisation?
No. The course teaches the process and the law. Authorisation to prescribe or dispense a Section 21 product comes only from the relevant statutory process, which the course explains but does not confer.

What happens to my data?
Name, email, and progress, held on a South African server. Payment details never touch our systems; PayFast handles them. Full detail in the privacy notice.
